Temperature today is 66F, winds today of about 4 mph from the SW, BP is 29" and falling slowly. The cold front from the other day has moved further off shore and the storm systems along the coast have died off. Wisconsin is still mostly under a H pressure right now, however the falling pressure indicates that will be moving along out of the area and we'll probably be expecting some precipitation in the next few days as this cold front to our W makes its way into the region. There's a surface trough extending from that cold front down into Texas where there is also a L pressure developed just S of the US border that is causing some precipitation for the Lone Star State.
Daily Weather Journal
May 9
Temperature today was 65F, winds of about 5mph from the SW. Cloud cover today is partly cloudy. Today Wisconsin is under a H pressure and conditions will be stable for the near future. The E US is still being pummeled by the same storm systems all week, there a L developed off the Coast of DC with a cold front moving all along the Eastern seaboard down thru the Gulf region.
May 8
Temperature today was 56F, winds of about 10mph from the W. BP is 29" and falling. Wisconsin is under a L pressure, with 2 surface troughs extending away from it as well as a cold front. Wisconsin should be experience thunderstorms this evening as they begin to develop further into the evening. Most of the Western US is under H pressure and is looking pretty clear. That massive cold front is still present from yesterday and has moved further E, the New England is under heavy rains as those storm cells from yesterday have moved into the area. To the deep S, over Texas they are also experiencing some heavy rains due to this cold front mixing with the warm Gulf air.
May 7
Temperature today was about 69F, cloud cover was partly cloudy today. Winds today of about 5mph from the W. Things look pretty clear on radar for our area, a bit of a surface trough extending across the Upper Peninsula of Michigan. From the Southwest US to the New England area there is a massive cold front that has moved through and is producing a chain of storms all along, these storms will likely be funneled by the jet stream to the NE and into New England area as well, so those folks are in for some some steady storms.
May 6
Temperature today was about 60F, cloud cover has been overcast today. Winds today of about 5mph from the E. Over Eau Claire is currently an occluded front that extends from a L in S Canada to a L in Iowa/Missouri, where the occluded front is converging with a cold front to the SW and a warm front to E, which is producing quite a bit of precipitation in the area.
May 4
Temperature was about 75F, winds of about 14mph from the SE, BP is 29" and steady. There is a stationary front situated over Iowa connecting over to the Colorado L, as well as a surface trough running through MN. These are producing some storm cells over N. Iowa and S. Minnesota that will be moving into our area over the next few hours.
May 3
Temperature was about 75F, winds of about 8mph from the SW and cloud cover is completely overcast. Our area has had several storm in the last couple days and today we've had scattered storms and will likely have another one this evening. In Wisconsin now extending W to the Rockies is a cold front and moving behind that is a bit of a stationary/cold front. Eau Claire is caught in the middle of the fronts and we are getting the SW wind moving through this tunnel between the fronts. To the E wrapping is a warm front that is providing the mixing of air to create these storm systems over Canada/Michigan/Wisconsin. Over the next couple days, the winds should move these storm systems along into the New England and the cold front to our N will likely move S.
April 30
Temperature today was about 61F, winds of about 8mph from the SW. Cloud cover is partly cloudy and BP is 28" and rising. There is a slight remnant of the stationary front from yesterday but today there is a cold front to our S, across Missouri/Illinois. There is a L pressure over Illinois and the mixing of a cold/warm front is producing some heavy rain in the area. This cell has moved through our area and weather should clearing up, off to the NW there is some precipitation developing.
April 29
Temperature today was about 58F, winds of about 7mph from the SE. BP is 30" and steady. Cloud cover today is mostly cloudy, with slight precipitation off and on. To our S there is a storm producing heavy rain over Illinois and Iowa, Further to our S there is a stationary front that extends E to the Atlantic front Oklahoma. Currently we have SE winds running along the front to our S, depending on how the shifts we may get more precipitation as that stationary front hangs around and The cold/occluded front to our W moves in.
April 26
Temperature today was about 55F, winds of about 5mph from the SE. BP is 30" and rising. The rising pressure indicates we should have stabilizing conditions for at least the near future. To our W there is a storm system developed over the Dakotas that is producing quite a bit of precipitation. Further W is a massive cold front coming over the Rocky Mountains and a remnant of what I believe is the stationary that was strong over the past few days. A Colorado L is a little S from usual and is producing precipitation with the stationary to the N. Over Texas there is another piece of that stationary front that has also turned into a cold front moving through the SE US and connecting with an occluded front and a warm extending over the Atlantic from the New England area. A L pressure over Vermont is producing precipitation in this area and into Canada as well.
As for my recital last night, it went fairly well. A few rough spots and and a bad page turn, but no worse for the wear. There was a mix-up with my reception and my family and I went out to the Dairy Queen for desert instead, and I will just have to contact SAI about my order because it was paid in advance but live and learn.
April 25
Temperature is about 45F, cloud cover is mostly cloudy. Winds of about 10mph from the E, moving parallel to the warm front to the SE. Slight rain this morning for our area, we can expect more as these fronts move across the nation. The stationary front from yesterday is holding strong from Montana thru Iowa, where it hits a L pressure system. A warm front is extending SE from there and is producing precipitation over the Carolinas. These systems will likely move up the E coast toward the New England region. To the W there is a surface trough running on the W side of the Rocky Mountains, and there is quite a bit of precipitation from Washington down to California. On a personal note, today is my senior recital at 730 in Phillips auditorium, on String Bass and I am glad that the temperatures have dropped down from yesterday because will already be sweating enough.
April 24
Temperature today was 70F, cloud cover was scattered clouds and partly cloudy. Winds of about 15mph from the E. There is a small stationary front to our SW, turning into a Warm front and producing precipitation over MN, and it wraps back around following to L pressure along the Canadian border. Our area will likely be experiencing precipitation as well as the fronts continue to move E and deeper into the midwest.
April 23
Temperature today was about 63F, cloud cover is partly cloudy today. BP is 29" and steady. Over WI there is a H pressure to explain the stable conditions. Further to E over NY, there is a L pressure that is producing sleet and rain near an occluded front. Most of the country is under H pressure now, except the N Dakota region and W of the Rockies.
April 22
Temperature today was about 57F, winds of about 8mph from the NW. BP is 30" and rising. There is not much happening over our area, rising pressure indicates that the H pressure systems to our N and further off to the SE are moving into our area and weather should be clear for us until they move out. To the W a stationary from is planted along the Rocky Mountains, turning into a cold front as it wraps through texas to a L pressure over Mississippi/ Alabama. Another L pressure system is off to the E, a stationary front extending extending to the NE is producing and will continue to produce heavy rain for some time in the New England States.
April 21
Temperature today was about 58F, winds of about 18mph from the SE. Cloud cover today partly cloudy. BP is 30" and falling. To our W, there is an occluded front situated by a L pressure system, and a H pressure system further S. A mixing of occluded, cold, and warm fronts is producing precipitation in Iowa and into MN, Winds are currently coming up from the SE, bringing moisture into the region, fueling the storm systems to our W, as the winds change we can expect those to move into the WI region as well.
April 19
Temperature today was about 40F, winds of about 12mph from the NE. To the NE in Canada there is a H pressure system, and to our SW there is a L pressure system and a stationary front extending through the midwest US. Wind is moving parallel to the front from the H pressure up N and bring down cold polar air mixing with the warmer air to the S, producing steady precipitation over Wi, Mn, Ia, and Mi. Two more L pressure systems are off to our W as well, over Montana and a Colorado L, L pressure is currently dominating the midwest/ central US.
April 18
Temperature today was 65F, winds of about 10mph from the N. Cloud cover today is mostly cloudy and produced precipitation early in the day, pressure is 29" and rising. In our neck of the woods, there are a few fronts converging over L. Michigan and a L pressure system N of that. An occluded front is extending from the L to L. Michigan, a warm front to the E, and a cold front to the SW that wraps back around into Colorado to become a stationary front along the Rocky Mountains. This is producing precipitation along the Mountain region and into the Dakotas. The N wind will be bring cold air into the area and temperatures will be dropping over night.
April 17
Temperature today was 57F, cloud cover partly cloudy. Winds of about 10mph from the SE, BP is 30" and steady. To our W, over the Dakotas there is quite a bit happening, A L pressure system is is producing some precipitation over MN as well. There is a stationary front extending down into Iowa, as well as a cold front moving around from the W. Further S there is another L pressure along a surface trough over E Colorado. There is a massive cold front moving off the E coast including a couple L pressure systems producing precipitation in the S. A second cold front is also moving the the New England states following behind.
April 16
Temperature today was about 55F, winds of about 20mph with gusts over 30mph. Cloud cover today was overcast and produced light snow. Winds of about 6mph from the NW, BP 30" and rising, indicating clearing conditions. A cold front that moved through is now to our S in Illinois, off to the W there is a stationary front sitting over Montana. To the E there is a cold front that is covering most of the E US down the Gulf coast and turns into a stationary front over Texas, where it is also producing precipitation just off the coast.
April 15
Temperature today was about 75F, winds of about 15mph from the SW with gusts above 30mph. Currently we are situated under a L pressure system where a warm front is perpendicular to a cold front. The mixing of air is producing precipitation all along the central states and into N MN and Canada.
April 13
Temperature today was 55F, winds of about 20mph from the SE. Cloud cover today was completely overcast. To the W in SW MN there is a L pressure system that is producing precipitation, an approaching warm front will be moving through and it looks like there is a cold front some ways behind it. We are currently getting the SE wind moving parallel to the front and we can expect a shift in wind direction as the front makes its way into our area.
April 12
Temperature was 55F, wind is calm. BP is 30.20 and falling. There is a H pressure sitting over Wisconsin/Minnesota and falling pressure indicates that it will be moving out of our area. To the W, along the Rocky Mountains there is a stationary front that is producing precipitation near a couple L pressure spots.
April 7
Temperature today was about 63F, winds of about 11mph from the S. The fronts that were off the W yesterday have moved into Minnesota and are working there way towards Wisconsin, shown by the surface map it is already creating precipitation over central Wisconsin and parts of Illinois.
March 3
Sky today is completely overcast, 100% cloud cover. Temperature is 28F, with a feel of 18F. Wind today is a W of 9mph. Currently there is light snow, BP is 29.73 in Hg and rising slowly. As pressure increases we should be seeing a clearing of current conditions
Link shows current conditions around the area, there is a low pressure system in the area and a cold front.
